Recycled Faux Fur
Our 2020 Autumn Winter range introduces recycled polyester to our evolving brand story. Plastic bottles are collected, chipped, melted, and spun into yarn — and turned into your favourite Ena Pelly Piece. Our best-selling Faux Fur is made from a polyester yarn created from 100% recycled plastic bottles. Each jacket uses approximately 60 x 600ml plastic bottles.
We continue to use this yarn in the lining of our leather pieces. Each lining contains approximately 5 x 600ML bottles. We at Ena Pelly are committed to removing virgin plastic from our supply chain completely by 2022, replacing all of our plastic packaging, zipper pulls, and synthetic fabric in our clothes to a bio-degradable or recycled alternative.
Being surrounded by nature in our Victorian Surf Coast home has informed our focus on environmentally conscious style.
Ethically Sourced Leather
Our smooth and pebbled leathers are ethically sourced to strict Australian, New Zealand, French and Chinese industry standards and are a by-product of the meat industry. We hand select high-quality skins with minimal blemishes in order to minimise solvent waste and the use of excess water during the tanning treatment. Our factories adhere to strict manufacturing and working condition standards. We spend countless hours working side by side with our manufacturers and consider the people who help make our clothing to be apart of the ENA PELLY family.
Vegetable Tanned Leather
Vegetable tanned leather refers to the tannage, or method of tanning the animal hide into leather. It’s called “vegetable tanning” because of the natural materials used in the tanning process. Vegetable tanning is a natural process and is eco-friendly. It is one of the oldest methods of tanning known to man; it has been around for centuries.
Our Graphic Tees & Sweats, Jersey and French Terry Cotton programmes use 30% recycled cotton. The fabric is made from discarded cotton and cloth, with the inclusion of industrial waste and fabric.
Our sustainability journey is constantly evolving. Each collection sees new developments in sustainable fabrics, reduced impact packaging and conscious design to create love-forever pieces, reducing our overall impact and encouraging sustainable purchases.
